This one took me quite a while to set up but for some reason I wasnt totally happy with the outcome. I think it just seems a lil out of balance somehow but i'm no sure where. Anyway ...I'm trying not to be too fussy otherwise I end up taking too long deliberating on my work, so here go's. ![]() This next one didn't take half as long and in my opinion is much more effective, fancied doing something refreshing and colourful so opted for some nice pastel colours. ![]() Thanks for looking ppl Message was edited by Sebalon - 12 March 2010 14:32 -------------------- Reality is what you trip over when your eyes are closed. |

these are great man! i'm not sure what would really be out of place on the first one myself. i was kinda wondering what that was in the tree but other than that, it looks great. i can definitely tell it took a while. that's some really good posing. i really like that second one too. very nice pastel colors. i'm assuming you intentionally left out the shadows for that one? i think maybe just some good shadows since without them, it tends to look a little "flat" if thats the word to use. but i've really enjoyed looking at all your work so far and hope you continue bringing more stuff! |

Cheers for the compliments Dlefik I think with the first piece it's to do with the rock at the top right at the pic. If you look close you see the little thorne thing in the tree is pointing with his finger but the rock sort of makes the pose less pronounced. Also i put a couple of fog plains in but i'm not sure i'm happy with the result it gave. I debated whether to just do the fog in post work and i wish i had. With the second one i was going for something very bright and the ibl light was on max intensity with shadow light on around 45% both coming in at opposite angle. I guess that makes for very dim shadows if at all lols. Didnt intend for it to be that way but i just loved the way the light set made her skin glow. I tried messing around to get better shadows but it effected the quality of her skin so i just decided to go with a very bright scene with dim shadows. I thought the compromise was worth it to get the atmosphere i wanted for the scene. Your comments were very constructive and are much appreciated. Oh and i'll be sure to bring in more work alright. I'm very much enjoying myself in the 3D playgrounds I create and am currently working on a couple of special projects which i'm eager to complete and share here. I'm here for the long haul and there will be much more art coming from this way. -------------------- Reality is what you trip over when your eyes are closed. |

glad to hear you're in it for the long haul man. gotta agree with you on enjoying ones self in the 3d playgrounds. i've been finding myself going to bed much later at night sometimes just trying to tweak and tweak scenes, kinda like you tell yourself im done after this render for the night, but when something's not right, it's like "oh, maybe ill do one more render to straighten that up" then it's 3 or 4 hours past the time you normally should go to bed lol. about that first image though, you're absolutely right about that rock now you point it out. for me it seems to actually almost be floating in the air rather than embedded into the cliffside, but the rest of the scene kinda drew my attention away from that, so that could be a good thing. by the way, what is that creature that guy is sitting on? that things looks pretty cool. edit, you know if you actually wanted to do good fog, you could possibly try vue, and even do your terrain while you're in that. i know vue has pretty good fog from what i've seen and probably a lot easier than trying to post work it. just a thought though. Lols i can identify with you there on the sleep depravation, recently my sleep pattern has been totally askew to the point where i hit the pillow around 8am, but have recently forced my body clock back to normal thankfully ^^ Yeah its a shame about the rock i agree with what you say and i dont have the scene any more lol. I really should start to keep my scenes. http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/bog-flea?item=8538&_m=d thats the big flea thing thats in the scene http://topgfx.com/3dstuff/7649-daz-poser-grab-bags-1-and-2.html found here on TOP as part of a bundle but i'll up it as single if you like.Funny that you mention vue cause I'm rendering a scene in it right now. Picked 8 xstream up a few months back when it was released but not really used it for rendering as i was still learning firefly render engine. Thing is ...i'm kinda limited to what i can bring into vue from poser cause with too much it really bogs down my system. I've not tried loading scenes on different layers yet though so maybe that will help. So yeah i'm gonna start making use of vue but for the mo i'll just be importing small poser scenes. Not really tried to make a fog atmosphere yet but i know it really is the best out there at simulating any type of atmosphere. I have however spent a lot of time learning the render engine when i first installed it a few months back so with a bit of brushing up on my skills i'll be confidently rendering more scenes in vue. Will be posting a couple of vue scenes later, one i did a while back and the one i'm rendering now. My head is abuzz with the possibilities ...vue really is the best compliment to poser and i cant wait to start using it for more complex environments. -------------------- Reality is what you trip over when your eyes are closed. |

thanks for that link, i'll mos def check it out when i can get a second. about vue, i hear it has strong support for poser scenes, i'm not entirely sure in what ways, maybe someone else can elaborate a bit more on the specifics of how you can manipulate poser scenes in vue. i've only done like maybe two renders in vue, a few posts back, which you may have seen, but those were actually done in daz studio 3 originally then imported in vue as .obj. i've only just started using poser in the last few days and haven't tried importing into vue from poser yet. i've always had a love for 3d max and vray so majority of my scenes are rendered in vray. i know i should learn to be a little more open minded, but i've tried vue, mental ray, maxwell render, and firefly and keep just coming back to vray. it's kinda like my comfort zone. the thing i had a real hard time with in vue was getting the light right for outdoor scenes. especially for like mid-day scenes where the sun was higher up noon. i always had the problem of over exposure on surfaces from the sun. they looked fabulous when the sun was more set. probably just lack of experience on my part though. but vue has a wonderful fog/haze system and can generate some mad clouds with ease. but keep at it man and i'd like to see what you come with from vue and poser. |
